Maynard, MA - Charles Wadsworth Hollister, III, age 53, of 37 Brooks Street, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at home after a long illness.
Born in Rockville, Ct. he lived in Maynard for the last 14 years. He was a graduate of Clarkson College in Potsdam, NY and had been a Software Engineer contractor at Draper Laboratory, Raytheon and most recently, EMC.
He was an amateur classical musician who played 15 different instruments, including the violin, viola, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, flute and piano. His greatest love was chamber music and his web site on chamber music conferences and string quartets is known around the world.
Mr. Hollister earned a private pilot’s license and had worked on obtaining a glider certification. He was also deeply involved with his family’s genealogy, searching hundreds of cemeteries, throughout New England and amassing a large library of information.
He is survived by his mother Margaret Soukup of Maynard, his father Charles Hollister, Jr. of Rockville, CT; his brother, Stephen Hollister of Jamestown, RI and two sisters: Deborah Leschinski of Norridgewock, ME and Wendy Oren of New Castle, DE.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Emerson Hospital Hospice Program, Concord, MA 01742.
Notice: If you used a search engine to find this page, I am sorry to tell you that my brother's site had to be discontinued. There was some interest in continuing the chamber music and string quartet information, but nothing has happened yet. Charlie was not paid to provide this information. He did it out of a deep, life-long love of music. Even up to a few weeks before his death, he had his string quartet and sextet groups come to the house to play.
If you are interested in continuing the work that Charlie started, you can contact me, Stephen Hollister, at shollist@newavesys.com. I will be glad to e-mail you a copy of his site.
